JULY 2010 UPDATE ON CARLA SALINAS FROM HER MOM

Dear Circle of Hearts family and friends,

We’re coming up on 17 years now that Carla has been diagnosed
with a really nasty and ferocious malignant brain cancer called
“anapalastic oligoastrocytoma.”   This is the second deadliest type of
brain cancer.  It is extremely rare for anyone at any age to survive
this type of brain cancer for more than two years, even with surgery,
chemo,  radiation and a VERY strict detoxifying diet.

Carla is a living miracle and inspiration to those of us who know the
enormous amount of self-discipline and self-love it takes to keep
ahead of this fast growing cancer.

A recent scan Carla had on June 9, 2010 showed the cancer was
back again and growing very fast.  She immediately went on a 35 day
medical fast which stopped the tumor’s growth.   The tide is turning,
but the battle is not won.  Her goal is to shrink and “starve” the
cancer  once again, as she did a year ago.

It takes more than just devotion to pull this off.  Carla has to adhere
to a very strict regimen of special foods, high doses of supplements,
numerous treatments and prescribed medications.  And they are all
expensive.  Below is a list of her monthly Integrative Medical expenses
that she relies on Circle of Hearts donations to pay for:

$ 435 supplements
$ 275 several types of medical treatments
$ 325 prescribed medications not covered by insurance

When you have brain cancer, you have to sleep a lot and are low on
energy a lot of the time.  This limits the number of hours Carla can
devote to earning income as one of the leading Craniosacral and
Polarity Therapists in the Boulder area.  Carla needs financial help
right now to help pay for all these Integrative Medical Therapies that
are helping her stay alive.

I realize that over these 17 years, all of you have given generously to
Circle of Hearts hoping your donations would bring Carla closer to a
real cure.  Your donations have made it possible for Carla to still be
with us today.  There’s no way a mother can thank you enough for
those donations.  You have been part of her miracle.

As her mom, I’m doing all I can to help pay for these expenses, but I
need your help .   Whatever you can give right now will help Carla help
herself to stay alive.

Please go to Circle of Hearts http://circleofhearts.org/donations
to make your donation.  All donations are completely tax deductible.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Carla’s mom,
Sally Sanford
