NUTRITION

Please seek a qualified medical oncologist (Integrative preferred) to direct your treatment. The source we used for nutritional advice is my Integrative Oncologist, Dr Dwight McKee.

One of the fastest dietary methods that could perhaps to slow the cancer’s growth is to lower your intake of carbohydrates and copper. Carbs feed the tumor with glucose and copper is used in the added growth of capillary cells that feed it. For more info on antiangiogenisis (how blood supply is stopped from feeding tumors), please go to www.cancerprotocal.com.

  • For the low copper levels, read Why Am I Aways So Tired by Louise Gittleman. Very informative book about several metabolic syndromes that affects us. It does not talk about cancer, but it does talk about copper overload and simple supplements to chelate copper thus decreasing  its ability help cancer grow. And it gives a chart that is mostly accurate for the quantity of copper in various foods.
  • For the carbs, check out the Atkins website, www.atkins.com click on Free Tools and you will see there their Carb Counter.
  • By adjusting the Atkins Induction Phase (25 carbs or less with 10-15 veggies) with the info for the low copper, we came up with this list:
